The Solution

Decomposed grease

After installing the PowerPack STATICON – GREASE in the grease well, the old grease crust on top of the wastewater was decomposed into a soft mass and the rest has over a 3-month period decomposed into a mix of water and protein.

The installation

was carried out while the grease well was in operation as the installation is easy and does not require the system to be dismantled, cut off or stopped.

Environmentally friendly

Danish regulations dictates wastewater to have below 50 mg. grease per liter wastewater discharged into the wastewater system.

There was no prior mg/ltr. measurement but after the 3-month period the visible amount of grease was reduced significantly and the measured mg/ltr wastewater was now under the statutory requirement.

Achieving this milestone is regarded as important as the green footprint for the Hospital is reduced and the installation of the PowerPack STATICON-GREASE helps protect the local water system and environment.

The amount of visible grease is reduced to a level not seen before even by their long-term employees.

Before the installation the top of the accumulated grease had formed a very hard crust with a surface as hard as rocks.

After the 3-month period the crust was decomposed into a soft mass and it was possible to push it around easily with a shovel.

Odor nuisances is reduced below what is noticeable for anyone just passing through the area where the grease well is located. Only when standing directly beside the open well an odor can be detected.

Cleaning expenses:

Before installation: 3 x Comprehensive cleaning of grease well per year = 9.000 DKK.

After installation: 1 x Small cleaning of grease = 1.500 DKK

A saving of total = 83%

The hospital has gone from 3 comprehensive cleanings of the grease well per year conducted by a third party at the cost of 9.000 DKK.

To a small cleaning and check-up conducted internally by the maintenance team themselves within ½ day of work.
