BioEraser PRO

BioEraser PRO

Professional Water treatment for biofilm and limescale.

BioEraser PRO is a professional water treatment system from BIOSTATIQ, developed for hospitals, commercial properties and other large buildings. It is designed to address biofilm and limescale in building water systems, with a focus on the maintenance and operational challenges they create.

For facilities teams, the objective is practical: less deposit-related maintenance, easier cleaning and better conditions for efficient operation.

When bacterial problems keep coming back

For technical personnel managing a critical facility, recurring contamination is an exhausting uphill battle. You can adjust temperatures, fine-tune circulation, and flush the system, yet positive bacterial samples keep resurfacing.

The root cause is buried deep out of reach: microorganisms attach to the internal pipe walls, building up a resilient biofilm layer that continually sheds bacteria straight into the drinking water. Because this contamination sits hidden inside inaccessible pipework and system components, routine maintenance and traditional cleaning simply cannot reach it.

The result is an endless loop of emergency measures, heightened inspection stress, and the constant risk of compromised water safety across the entire building.

Target biofilm where it builds up

BioEraser PRO uses electrostatic discharge as part of its biofilm treatment. The discharge function is designed to dissipate static electrical charge within the installation, with the aim of limiting microbial attachment and subsequent biofilm build-up on internal surfaces.

The system is installed inline and is intended to address build-up in pipework and components, including areas that are difficult to access for manual cleaning.

For technical teams, the objective is to reduce biofilm-related maintenance and support the management of water hygiene.

Biofilm is a protected environment for bacteria.

Biofilm is a layer of microorganisms enclosed in a protective, slimy matrix that attaches to the inside of pipes, fittings and other wet surfaces.

This layer provides shelter and nutrients for bacteria, including Legionella, and can protect them from disinfectants. Warm temperatures and stagnant water further encourage their growth.

As biofilm develops or fragments break away, microorganisms can enter the flowing water and spread through the installation. This makes biofilm a potential source of recurring microbial contamination and an important consideration in managing water quality.

Limescale is a system-wide problem

You descale a shower head, clean an aerator or service a valve. Later, the same job returns.

Across a large building, firmly attached limescale creates a steady workload: reduced flow at affected outlets, fittings that need servicing, surfaces that take longer to clean and heat exchangers that need descaling.

On heat-transfer surfaces, deposits also add thermal resistance between the water and the equipment. Keeping these surfaces clear matters to both equipment performance and efficient operation.

Reduce stubborn limescale build-up

BioEraser PRO uses electromagnetic treatment to influence how calcium carbonate crystallises. The treatment is designed to reduce the formation of firmly attached limescale on pipework, fittings and heat-transfer surfaces.

When deposits adhere less firmly, they are easier to remove. For your technical team, this can mean simpler cleaning, fewer recurring descaling tasks and less time spent servicing scale-affected equipment. Keeping heat-transfer surfaces clearer also helps maintain efficient heat transfer.

Hard deposits, higher maintenance demands.

Limescale is a hard mineral deposit made mainly of calcium carbonate. It forms when dissolved minerals in water crystallize, particularly as water is heated or evaporates. Over time, these deposits accumulate on pipework, fittings, heating elements and heat-exchanger surfaces.

Inside an installation, limescale can restrict flow, interfere with valves and reduce heat transfer. At taps, showers and other exposed surfaces, it creates stubborn deposits that require repeated cleaning and descaling. Across a large building, this adds to maintenance work, servicing costs and the challenge of keeping equipment operating efficiently.

Inside BioEraser PRO

Four Technologies
One integrated system.

Discover the water paths, treatment principles and electronics monitoring behind BioEraser PRO.

I-CAS

Electromagnetic limescale treatment.

Opposing coil pairs operate at different frequencies around the internal pipes to target calcium carbonate crystallisation.

The coil pairs provide the electromagnetic treatment as water passes through the unit. The treatment is designed to make limescale less likely to form firmly attached deposits on internal surfaces.

STATIQ

Electrostatic discharge.

Electrostatic interactions between microorganisms and wetted surfaces influence the initial attachment that precedes biofilm formation.

BioEraser’s discharge function is designed to dissipate static electrical charge within the installation, with the aim of limiting this initial attachment and subsequent biofilm build-up on pipework and components.

DualFlow

Two water paths.
One integrated unit.

DualFlow divides the incoming water between two parallel internal pipes, each with its own electromagnetic treatment section. This arrangement is designed to promote more uniform exposure to the treatment fields across the water flow.

BMS-LINK

Electronic Monitoring.

BMS-LINK monitors the electronics and provides visual and audible fault alarms. It also provides a connection to the building management system.

Your team can identify an electronics fault at the unit and incorporate the BMS connection into the building’s monitoring arrangements.

This monitoring concerns the electronics. Water quality and treatment outcomes are followed through the installation’s sampling and inspection program.

Danish hospitals measured reductions
in bacterial counts.

Backed by more than 100 comprehensive water analyses conducted by Eurofins Denmark, the BioEraser® has delivered exceptional results at Danish hospitals in region east.

Prior to the installation, elevated bacterial levels in test  indicated compromised water quality with the potential presence of pathogenic microorganisms. Following the implementation of the BioEraser®, the total bacterial counts (Kimtal) experienced a dramatic and highly positive transformation. Bacterial levels plummeted by over 98% to 99%, successfully reducing the bacteria to below detectable limits.

This remarkable percentage decrease testifies to an extreme improvement in water quality creating a highly secure setting for patient recovery.

This improvement is consistent across the system. Technical installations, including hot water tanks, demonstrated similarly impressive percentage reductions in total bacteria. Alongside the near-total elimination of general bacteria, highly positive decreases in Legionella levels were also achieved throughout facility water supply.
